Do You Hear Me? is a book debut by Simona Semenič, one of the currently most recognizable Slovenian playwrights and a three-time winner of the national Grum Award. The book is a collection of three autobiographical plays: i, the victim, (2007), do me twice (2009), and the second time (2014), which were the basis for the author’s past solo performances. In the book, they are chronologically tied up into a new and authentic structure by an amusing and lucid narrative text that veers between an essay and fiction, which allows the author to brush up her self-narration and build new levels of dialogue with the reader.

Simona Semenič says that Do You Hear Me? deals with authority. By revealing some of her personal experiences, she complains over the system we are bound to live in. She does so in a stylistically new, engaged, and uncompromisingly witty way. "I’m not making a fool out of anyone. Well, perhaps out of doctors every now and then. Politicians. Instances. Laws. Systems. Society. The government. The state. Culture. Myself."
