Is my social role measured by the size of my attributes? Is my gender telling me what to do? Should I make you dinner?

Venusian is a contemporary dance piece questioning social roles based on physical structures. We are experimenting with topics of pure female body, contradictions in stereotypes, perceiving sexuality, and opening ourselves to different aspects of our own representations. Considering the fact that we are facing the era in which contemporary dance is more and more keen on seeing male bodies on stage, we find it important to preserve the role of women in the field.

Jerneja Fekonja, Anna Jacso, Ivona Medić, Alja Branc are students of  Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy.
